The Haunted Boy (2010)

Review by David Rupp

This is the untold story of The Exorcist, a chronicle of true events based on the priest's secret diary the world was not to see. Based on the St. Louis possession, and following an exorcism diary that supposedly inspired William Peter Blatty.

Written and Directed by Christopher Saint Booth, Philip Adrian Booth
Starring: Keith Age, Christopher Saint Booth and Philip Adrian Booth
Ok I was a little skeptical at first, but then I met the guys at Scarefest in Lexington, KY and talked to them and heard their stories about this case and this film. It got me interested enought to check it out and I for one am glad I did. The Haunted Boy is an errie, visually haunting piece about an old St. Louis exocism case. The Booth brothers did a great job of shooting locations in a way to send that creey vibe right into your home.
One other thing I was impressed with is they got several witnesses to certain aspects as well as experts and religious figures to come forward to talk about their experiences on camera. The Booth brothers have a distinct style in shooting and how they put together the final product, that lends credence to the film instead of detracting from it.
Over all I really enjoyed my first forray into the brothers territory and do look forward to more, check out The Haunted Boy and you may just find yourself listening for creaks in your darkened house.
