If you have not seen this classic at all over the years, you need to first, kick yourself then get out and puchase this Blu-ray. If you own the DVD, sell it and get the Blu-ray, enough said.
For the majority I don't really have to expound on story, acting, action or any of the usual fare I may ramble on when having seen a movie. What I will do is talk a little about what this has to offer in way of enhancement and watchability. Image has put together a fairly good transfer rendering it in 1080p widescreen and DTS-HD audio with 6.1. You will notice things you may or may have not seen before, but very enjoyable.
As far as special features go they offer commentary with Wes Craven and Peter Locke, not bad but I feel they should of tracked down some of the cast for added tales. Also for your occular enjoyment are 2 featurettes, "Looking Back at The Hills Have Eyes" and "The Directors: The Films of Wes Craven", alternate ending, theatrical trailers and behind the scenes photos.
If you love the modern classics like I do this is a must have, it totally blows the remake out of the water, especcially for it's time.
