Them (2008)
Review by David Rupp

I had mixed feelings about this movie, but you decide.
It is supposed to be based on a true story, like so many films start out. Lucas (Michaël Cohen) and Clementine (Olivia Bonamy) live peacefully in their isolated country house, but one night they wake up to strange noise... they're not alone... and a group of hooded assailants begin to terrorize them throughout the night.
First off if you don't like subtitles, just skip this entirely, I don't mind them. The look of this movie was very well done, great visualization, exellent camera work, the only problem is it drags on, and is way too slow. The twist ending almost makes up for the lack of stand out action, but the draw your own conclusions element is refreshing.
In short, if you can handle reading the dialogue, following the drawn out sequences, and like the extended suspense element you may enjoy this and recieve the payout ending. I haven't seen The Strangers yet but from what I have read and seen in previews the parallels are eerie.4/10
