Many independent productions leave you with that voyeuristic feeling of having lived through a really dysfunctional home movie, then again there are the ones like the crew at Applied Art who put together a quality project that cries for distribution. Seriously, the acting is passable at worst and leads to great, shots are well set up, lit, and shot. The locations are wonderful as well as action sequences.
I have seen Erik A. Williams in several roles with Hack Movies, and he nails his character, as do the other cast members. The story is solid and has an originality that can make you want to see what happens, become invested in both story and character. I promised not to reveal spoilers, surprises and twists, which this film has plenty of, I almost had to go back for fear I missed something.
In conclusion if you want to support indie film, get a great piece of entertainment and not be disappointed, then I suggest you lay your eye on The Man in the Maze.
