The Prowler
Review by Jeff

Directed by: Joseph Zito

Starring:
Vicky Dawson/Pam McDonald
Christopher Goutman/Mark London
Lawrence Tierney/Maj. Chatham
Farley Granger/Sheriff George Fraser

Plot:
In 1945 after WWII was over, a terrible murder happened as a young lady named Rosemary and her date were killed by a psychopath yet the killer mysteriously vanished. 30 years later, a dance over at Avalon Bay is being held and tonight the murderer has returned to kill again.

Acting:
The acting in this film is ok but nothing to brag about, Vicky Dawson(Pam) played her role pretty good as the college girl who has a crush on the deputy, Christopher Goutman(Mark) plays the deputy of the town and does a nice job, he is a likeable character in the film, then there is the prowler but I cant say much about him without giving some of the film away.

Gore:
There isn’t a ton of gore here but what we do get is real good, we get lots of pitchfork action like to the back and to the stomach, a knife through the head, slit throat, knife to the throat, gunshots, and a head blown up.

T & A:
We get one pair of cha cha’s here.

Directing:
Joseph did a ok job with the film, it was something different for a slasher film but it didn’t really have anything that great to comment on, camera shots were the same as most other slasher flicks, just nothing really great stood out.

Soundtrack:
We get a pretty good score but I felt it added a little too much suspense to the film, just wasn’t really needed at times, and we get some rock music.

Final thoughts:
I heard a lot of good things about this film and was really looking forward to seeing it but I felt pretty let down after watching it. The good points are Tom Savini’s effects, and it was something new for a slasher film, but the down points were the movie was real slow at times and was just kind of boring, but there is a surprise ending, but I kind of saw it coming, I would say it’s a must see if you’re a huge slasher movie fan. I give it a 6/10.
