Triangle (2009)

Review by David Rupp

When Jess sets sail on a yacht with a group of friends, she cannot shake the feeling that there is something wrong. Her suspicions are realized when the yacht hits a storm and the group is forced to board a passing ocean liner to get to safety, a ship Jess is convinced she's been on before. The ship appears deserted, the clock on board has stopped, but they are not alone... Someone is intent on hunting them down, one by one. And Jess unknowingly holds the key to end the terror.

Written & Directed by: Christopher Smith
Starring: Liam Hemsworth, Melissa George, Michael Dorman, Rachael Carpan, Emma Lung, Henry Nixon & Joshua McIvor.

Let me begin by saying I walked into this one blind, and part of me wishes I had kept walking. Triangle is an original idea surrounded by a stereotypical cast with predictable dialog. You will of course have varied opinions of this movie but I have to liken it to a severly fucked up Groundhogs Day.

There are some saving points, like the actions of past decisions litteraly piling up. but over all it is predictable yet well shot, annoying yet suspenseful. This movie is a weird mix of good and bad, so I say give it a shot but don't expect earth shattering cinema. 4/10.
