Troll 2 (1990)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: Claudio Fragasso
Starring:
Michael Stephenson/Joshua
George Hardy/Michael
Robert Ormsby/Grandpa Seth
Deborah Reed/Creedence
Plot:
Joshua and his family decide to do a city/country family exchange landing themselves in the peaceful town of Nilbog. Once there Joshua's dead grandfather returns to warn him of the evils of Nilbog and tries to get him to convince his family to leave. His parents and sister ignore him. Joshua learns that the town's inhabitants are actually goblins and that their mission is to get outsiders to eat their goblin food turning them into trees where they can be eaten and devoured.
Acting:
The acting in this movie is awful but in the best way possible, Michael Stephenson(Joshua) was great as the lead kid, his facial reactions are funny as hell and he did a great job, George Hardy(Michael) played the dad good and had some classic lines in the flick, Deborah Reed(Creedence) was so over top that it worked great.
Gore:
There really isn’t much blood in this movie just tons of green nasty shit, but we do get plants growing out of people, a spear to the chest, a hand cut off, and a guy on fire.
T & A:
None of that stuff here.
Directing:
Claudio did a great job making this nothing like the first film, I thought the flick looked pretty good for its budget, and some of the effects were ok, but the goblins looked horrible, unlike the first movie.
Soundtrack:
We get a real cheesy score that loops throughout the flick, and some county towns folk music.
Final thoughts:
Troll 2 is nothing the first movie, and it’s known as being the best worst movie ever made, and I would agree there. There is so much funny shit in this flick you couldn’t name all of them, and it’s so great because it’s supposed to be such a serious movie. The acting is real bad, and there is no mention of the word troll in the movie at all, they are called goblins, yea that makes a lot of sense, and don’t forget “you cant piss on hospitality”. This is a classic you have to see. I give it a 10/10.
