The Vampire Collection: Short stories for the Vampire Enthusiast
Review by Mari Lynne Rupp
Story by BellaDonna Drakul
Tired of all the Twilight press, I eagerly jumped into Belladonna Drakul's "The Vampire Collection: Short stories for the Vampire Enthusiast" and although the writing talent shows itself as raw at times, it was still an enjoyable read.
The first one, "Blood Kin" starts out almost romance like, but please rest assured, Belladonna's vampires DO NOT sparkle, with some big, bad vampires to sink your teeth into. (I like 'em bad, what can I say!)
It grabs your attention, and although the style is rough around the edges, that doesn't make it any less pleasurable to read. My favorite story was "Ice", a fairy-tale-like story that is, in my opinion, the best written and worth the price of the volume alone.
This first offering holds 14 stories, with something for everyone, big bad vampires, undead temptresses, and just about any kind of vampire guise you could think of.
I'm really hoping this is not the last book I review for Ms. Drakul, as she can only improve with experience.5/10.
