The Video Dead
Review by Jeff
Directed by: Robert Scott
Starring:
Michael St. Michaels/Henry
Roxanna Augesen/Zoe
Rocky Duvall/Jeff
Sam David McClelland/Joshua
Plot:
An unlabelled crate from an unknown source is delivered to a house in the woods. The homeowner unwisely accepts the delivery, only to discover it contains a TV set that starts spewing giggling zombies all over the place. When a new family moves into the now-abandoned house, the son discovers the haunted television and is soon told what he needs to do to send the zombies back where they belong. Knowing and doing, however, are two very different things, and the zombies are not likely to go quietly.
Acting:
The acting in this film was pretty good in a cheesy way, Rocky Duvall(Jeff) was funny at times and made this movie as fun as what it was, Sam David McClelland(Joshua) was great too he was over the top with his Texan role.
Gore:
The gore here was kick ass and looked great we get a cut off hand, a iron to the head, lots of arrows to the body, some chainsaw action, a head cut off and more.
T & A:
Nothing much in this movie.
Directing:
Robert’s stuff worked good with the budget he had, some of the effects are pretty lame but it’s fun to see.
Soundtrack:
We get a pretty cool piano score that is chilling at times.
Final thoughts:
The Video dead is a great low budget zombie flick from the 80’s that is different from the typical zombie flick, the gore was great, and the zombie make-up effects were awesome, also Jeff and Joshua were pretty funny together with the little time they had. I give this film a 7/10.
